PROJECT OVERVIEW

• This project is located in Port St Johns Local Municipality in the OR Tambo District in the Eastern Cape.
• This new Greenfields section of the N2 Wild Cost Toll Highway starts at 10 km inland from Port St Johns at Ndwalane.
• This route leaves the existing R61 at the new Ndwalane Interchange and extends to Ntafufu where the route re-joins the existing R61 towards Lusikisiki.
• The total length of the new construction is 16.68 km.
• The Mzimvubu River is cross at km 84.30 and a new bridge is to be constructed. This bridge is approximately 400m long.
• The Ntafufu River is crossed at km 90.14 and a new bridge is to be constructed.
• Two new Interchanges will be constructed at Km 76.04 and Km 91.8.
• Implementation of Community Development projects including public walkways, pedestrian underpasses, service and access roads.
• Provision of road signs and road markings.
